When choosing a casket for a loved friend one a family member, it should reflect the persons views, personality and values.
What makes people choose wooden caskets?

Regardless of the fact that wooden caskets are more affordable than steel caskets, there's nothing more elegant and warm as a wooden casket. They come in a variety of materials such as oak, maple, walnut, cherry, maple and mahogany, with the rest being more affordable. Wooden caskets also come with a variety of colors which will depend on which materials you chose.
There are many different types of coatings used to make the caskets more durable. One may go for the natural satin-finish or the highly glossed finish, all depending on your personal preference.

What makes people choose metal?

Durability is the vital reason why people would choose a metal casket, the mere fact that it possibly preserves the body for a longer period of time, comforts mourners. Unlike the wooden domes, you get steel that corrodes whereas carbon steel is less likely resistant to corrosion.
Steel is the most favored material used for metal caskets and comes in different gauges where 20 gauge is more thinner and more affordable and 18Guage which is a thicker sheet of steel, yet more expensive.
Another reason why people choose metal gaskets is because it comes with a rubber gasket around the lid of the casket. This allows the coffin to seal tightly, leaving out any forms of bacteria entering the casket, protecting the deceased.
